Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data PunterScore collects when you use our website, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights regarding that data.
Plain-English Summary
This summary is for convenience only. The full policy below governs our data practices. In any conflict, the full policy prevails.
Data Controller
PunterScore ("we", "us", "our") is the data controller responsible for the personal data collected through the website located at www.punterscore.com (the "Site").
As data controller, we determine the purposes and means of processing your personal data. If you have any questions about how we handle your data, or wish to exercise your privacy rights, you can contact us at:
Email: support@punterscore.com
Website: www.punterscore.com/contact
GDPR applicability: If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, your data is processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK GDPR respectively. Additional rights available to EEA and UK residents are set out in Section 11.

| Location Data | Approximate country and region derived from IP address (not precise GPS location) | Always |
| Cookie Data | Cookie identifiers, session data, preference settings | With Consent |

We do not collect special categories of sensitive personal data (such as health data, racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, or financial account details) through the Site.
How We Collect Data
We collect data through the following mechanisms:
Automatically — when you visit the Site
When you access any page on PunterScore, our servers and analytics tools automatically log certain technical and usage data. This includes your IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps. This happens on every page visit and does not require any action from you.
Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use first-party and third-party cookies, pixel tags, and similar tracking technologies to collect analytics and advertising data. You can control cookie use through our cookie consent banner (displayed on your first visit) and through your browser settings. See Section 6 for full details.
Directly — when you contact us
If you email us or submit a message through our contact form, we collect the information you voluntarily provide — typically your name, email address, and the content of your message. This data is used solely to respond to your enquiry.
From Third Parties
We may receive limited data about you from third-party analytics providers (such as Google Analytics) and advertising networks (such as Google AdSense) in aggregated or pseudonymised form, which we use to understand site performance and ad effectiveness.
Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
For users in the EEA and UK, we process your personal data under the following legal bases as defined in Article 6 of the GDPR:
| Processing Activity | Legal Basis |
|---|---|
| Server logs and essential site operation | Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — necessary to operate and secure the Site |
| Analytics cookies (e.g. Google Analytics) | Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — obtained via cookie banner |
| Advertising cookies (e.g. Google AdSense) | Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — obtained via cookie banner |
| Responding to contact form enquiries | Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — to respond to and resolve user communications |
| Compliance with legal obligations | Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)) |
Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have assessed that our interests are not overridden by your fundamental rights and freedoms. You have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests — see Section 11.
How We Use Your Data
We use the data we collect for the following purposes:
- To operate and deliver the Site — serving pages, maintaining uptime, and ensuring the Site functions correctly across devices and browsers;
- To analyse and improve site performance — understanding which pages and features are most used, identifying errors, and improving the user experience;
- To personalise content — for example, displaying predictions relevant to your approximate location (country-level only);
- To display advertising — showing relevant advertisements from our advertising partners (subject to your cookie consent preferences);
- To respond to enquiries — processing contact form submissions and emails to answer your questions;
- To detect and prevent fraud or abuse — identifying unusual usage patterns that may indicate scraping, bot activity, or other policy violations;
- To comply with legal obligations — retaining records we are required to keep by applicable law.
We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects on you. Analytics and advertising use aggregated or pseudonymised data only.
Cookies & Tracking Technologies
PunterScore uses cookies and similar technologies. A cookie is a small text file placed on your device by your browser when you visit a website. We use the following categories of cookies:
| Cookie Type | Purpose | Examples | Consent Required |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly Necessary | Site operation, security, session management. Cannot be disabled. | Session cookies, CSRF tokens | No |
| Analytics | Understanding how visitors use the Site — page views, traffic sources, device types. | Google Analytics (_ga, _gid) | Yes |
| Advertising | Displaying relevant ads and measuring ad performance. | Google AdSense, ad networks | Yes |
| Functional | Remembering your preferences (e.g. cookie consent choices, display settings). | Preference cookies | Yes |
Managing cookies: You can accept or decline non-essential cookies via our cookie consent banner on your first visit. You can change your preferences at any time by clearing your browser cookies and revisiting the Site, or by adjusting your browser settings to block cookies. Note that disabling cookies may affect the functionality of some parts of the Site.
For full details of the specific cookies we use, their names, durations, and providers, see our Cookie Policy.
Data Sharing & Third Parties
We do not sell your personal data to any third party, ever. We share data only in the limited circumstances described below.
Analytics Providers
We use Google Analytics to collect aggregated, anonymised usage statistics. Google may process usage data on our behalf under a data processing agreement. Google Analytics data is used solely for site analytics and is not used to identify individual users. You can opt out of Google Analytics using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Advertising Networks
We use Google AdSense and other advertising networks to display ads on the Site. These networks may use cookies and device identifiers to serve relevant ads and measure performance. Their data practices are governed by their own privacy policies. Subject to your consent, these networks may share pseudonymised data with their partners for ad targeting purposes.
Hosting & Infrastructure
Our website is hosted on third-party server infrastructure. Our hosting provider processes technical data (including IP addresses in server logs) solely for the purpose of operating and securing the Site, under a data processing agreement with us.
Legal Compliance
We may disclose personal data to law enforcement agencies, regulatory authorities, or other third parties where we are legally required to do so, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
Business Transfers
In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our business, personal data held by us may be transferred to the acquiring entity. We will notify users of any such transfer via a prominent notice on the Site.
International Data Transfers
Some of our third-party service providers — including Google Analytics and Google AdSense — are based outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and United Kingdom, and may process your data in countries such as the United States.
Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA or UK, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, including:
- Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission or UK ICO, incorporated into our agreements with relevant third-party processors;
- Adequacy decisions by the European Commission where applicable;
- Data processing agreements with all third-party processors that specify their data handling obligations.
For more information about the safeguards in place for international transfers, please contact us at support@punterscore.com.
Data Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by law. Our retention periods are as follows:
| Data Type | Retention Period | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Server access logs | 90 days | Security monitoring and fraud detection |
| Analytics data (Google Analytics) | 14 months (Google default) | Site performance analysis |
| Cookie consent records | 12 months | Compliance with consent obligations |
| Contact form / email enquiries | 2 years from last contact | Responding to follow-up queries; legal compliance |
| Financial / affiliate records | 7 years | Tax and accounting legal requirements |
After the relevant retention period, data is securely deleted or anonymised. If you request deletion of your data before the end of a retention period, we will delete what we can and anonymise or restrict what we are legally required to retain.
Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include:
- HTTPS encryption across all pages of the Site;
- Access controls limiting data access to authorised personnel only;
- Regular security reviews of our hosting infrastructure and third-party service providers;
- Data minimisation — we only collect data we actually need for specified purposes.
While we take all reasonable steps to protect your data, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and encourage you to take appropriate precautions when sharing information online.
Data breach notification: In the event of a personal data breach that poses a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify the relevant supervisory authority within 72 hours (as required under GDPR Article 33) and will notify affected individuals where required.
