Editorial Policy

PunterScore exists to bring transparency and data integrity to football predictions. The sports betting information space is crowded with sites that cherry-pick results, make unverifiable win rate claims, and promote bookmakers without disclosing commercial relationships. We were founded to be different.

Our mission is simple: provide honest, data-driven football predictions without hype, false guarantees, or hidden agendas. Every editorial decision on PunterScore is made in service of that mission — and this policy document is our public commitment to upholding it.

PunterScore is operated by a team of data scientists, sports analysts, and AI engineers. Our content is produced under the editorial oversight of David Olamide, Lead Sports Analyst, who holds a degree in Statistics and has over 8 years of experience in football analytics and machine learning applications for sports prediction.

All named authors on PunterScore are real individuals with verifiable professional backgrounds. We do not publish anonymous content or use pseudonyms for prediction analysis. Author profiles are available on our About page.

Every piece of content we publish — predictions, analysis articles, league guides, or strategy content — must comply with the following principles:

  Accuracy First Claims about win rates, odds, team statistics, and performance figures must be verifiable and sourced from our live data systems or reputable public datasets. We never publish figures we cannot substantiate.

  Full Transparency All prediction outcomes are tracked and published publicly in our results log — wins and losses equally. We never remove or retroactively edit past predictions. Our prediction methodology is published in full.

  No False Guarantees We never use language suggesting predictions are guaranteed to win. Terms like "sure win", "guaranteed tip", "banker", or "certain profit" are prohibited across all content. Football is inherently unpredictable and we communicate this honestly.

  Commercial Independence Commercial relationships — including affiliate partnerships and advertising — do not influence prediction outputs or editorial content. The separation of commercial and editorial functions is absolute and is detailed in Section 7 below.
• 🛡️
  Responsible Gambling Every page on PunterScore that references betting includes responsible gambling messaging and links to support resources. Content is never designed to encourage excessive gambling or to minimise risks. See Section 8 for full details.
• 👤
  Named Authorship All content is attributed to named, real individuals with relevant expertise. We do not publish content anonymously or use AI-generated text without human review and editorial oversight.
• 🔄
  Regular Review Content is reviewed and updated on a structured schedule. Outdated statistics, broken links, and superseded information are corrected promptly. See Section 9 for our corrections procedure.

Football predictions on PunterScore are generated by our AI model and are subject to the following editorial standards before publication:

Data quality gate: Every prediction passes an automated data quality check before entering the publication pipeline. Fixtures with insufficient data depth — typically very low-tier leagues or newly-promoted clubs below minimum data thresholds — are excluded from the prediction system entirely.

Minimum confidence threshold: We publish predictions only where our model's confidence rating clears a minimum of 60%. Tips below this threshold are not surfaced, regardless of their potential odds value.

Pre-match lock: All predictions are published before kick-off and are locked at that point. We never backfill, amend, or remove predictions after a match has started. The publication timestamp is visible on each prediction.

Written analysis: Every prediction is accompanied by a written analysis summary drawn from the model's top-weighted input variables. Analysis summaries explain the key factors behind each tip in plain language. They are generated from our data pipeline and reviewed for readability before publication.

Odds accuracy: Odds displayed on prediction cards are indicative figures sourced at time of publication from major bookmakers. Odds fluctuate — users should always verify current odds with their preferred licensed bookmaker before placing any bet.

All written content on PunterScore — including league guides, betting strategy articles, market explainers, and methodology documentation — is held to the following standards:

Expertise: Articles covering betting markets, statistical concepts, or football analytics are written or reviewed by individuals with relevant professional expertise. We do not commission general content writers to produce technical prediction analysis.

Evidence-based claims: Statistical claims in written content are sourced from our internal data systems, reputable public football data providers, or peer-reviewed research. Sources are referenced where appropriate. We do not make claims based on anecdote or unverified reports.

Balance: Content covering betting strategy includes honest discussion of risk. Articles about prediction markets acknowledge the inherent unpredictability of football. We do not publish one-sided content that presents gambling as a reliable income source.

No AI-only content: While our data pipeline uses machine learning to generate prediction summaries, all longer-form editorial content is produced by human writers and subject to human editorial review before publication. We do not publish unreviewed AI-generated articles.

Up-to-date information: League guides, market explainers, and strategy articles are reviewed at the start of each football season (typically August) and updated when significant information changes. The "Last Updated" date displayed on each article reflects the most recent substantive revision.

All content on PunterScore goes through a structured review process before publication. The stages vary by content type:

Predictions go through an expedited version of this process given their time-sensitive nature — data quality and confidence threshold checks are automated, with a human review trigger for any prediction that deviates significantly from market consensus without a clear data-driven explanation.

Long-form editorial content (league guides, methodology pages, strategy articles) undergoes full four-stage review with a minimum 24-hour interval between draft and publication to allow independent fact-checking.

PunterScore generates revenue through advertising and affiliate partnerships with bookmakers and betting-related services. We are transparent about this: some links on our site may earn us a referral commission if you sign up to a bookmaker through them.

What our commercial relationships do not affect:

  Editorial content Articles, guides, and analysis are written to serve our readers — not to promote commercial partners. We do not accept payment for positive editorial coverage of bookmakers.

  Performance reporting Our publicly published win rates are calculated from unfiltered prediction outcomes. Losing predictions are not removed to protect advertiser relationships or improve headline figures.

PunterScore operates in the sports betting information space, and we take our responsibility to promote safe gambling seriously. The following standards apply across all content we publish:

  Mandatory disclaimers Every page containing betting tips or odds information includes a responsible gambling disclaimer. Disclaimers are not hidden in footers — they appear prominently within the content area.
• 🚫
  No guaranteed win language We strictly prohibit language that suggests betting is a reliable income source or that any prediction is a guaranteed winner. This applies to all content including social media, email communications, and Telegram channels.
• 💬
  Support resources Every page references accredited responsible gambling support organisations including BeGambleAware, GamCare, and relevant national equivalents for our primary audience geographies.
• 📉
  Risk disclosure Betting strategy content explicitly discusses bankroll management, the mathematical reality of losing streaks, and the importance of never betting money you cannot afford to lose. We do not suppress or minimise discussion of financial risk.

We are committed to correcting errors promptly and transparently. Our corrections policy distinguishes between three types of errors:

Factual errors — incorrect statistics, wrong match dates, inaccurate odds — are corrected as soon as they are identified, with the correction noted inline on the affected page and a "Last Updated" timestamp added. The original erroneous text is not silently deleted.

Prediction errors — a prediction recorded with the wrong outcome in our results log — are corrected within 24 hours of identification. The correction is noted in the results entry alongside the original result. We do not retroactively change confidence ratings or prediction values.

Methodology errors — errors in our described methodology or model documentation — are corrected with a dated update notice at the top of the affected page explaining what changed and why.

To report an error in any PunterScore content, please email support@punterscore.com with the subject line "Correction Request" and the URL of the affected page. We aim to respond within 48 hours and to correct verified factual errors within 72 hours.

This editorial policy is reviewed at minimum once per year, and updated whenever there is a material change to how we produce, review, or publish content. Updates are documented in the version history below.
